Good Morning!
We had a great weekend. We slept in Saturday morning. Then I started prepping and cooking food for our Superbowl party. I love days when I get to just stay in the kitchen all day. I absolutely love to make yummy foods for my friends and family.
Sunday we had a rough start to the morning but all was resolved by 10 am. We then drove the hour into town for the party with all of our food in tow. The food was all very well received. I was concerned with one of my recipes since it was newer. We have a good friend who is allergic to peanuts and pregnant. Since she has become pregnant, she has been craving Snickers, but obviously cannot have them because of the peanuts. So I tweaked my homemade snickers recipe to be peanut safe. We used soy nut butter instead of peanut butter and roasted soy nuts instead of peanuts. Everyone loved them, even our friends who love regular snickers. Yay!
I then got to spend the day talking doula business with my pregnant friend and our other friend who is currently trying to get pregnant. Any day I get to talk about birthing, child rearing, and babies is a good day in my book. I am truly passionate about my doula services. I donate my services quite often because I just love doing it all so much. My mom once suggested to me that my fertility issues were a blessing to the women around me because they all benefit from what I’ve learned.
I’ve been reading about how to get pregnant and how to be a good mom since I fell in love with my husband in September 2004. (Yes, I know the exact day I fell in love with him!) A few years ago in a book about natural childbirth I saw the word doula for the first time. I was intrigued, immediately researched how to become one, and was signed up for a training session before the end of the next day. As you can imagine, I’ve accumulated quite a bit of information in the 9 years since I started researching. My friends and clients have benefitted from my collection of information. Well, at least I’d like to think they have.
Also this weekend, I brought up my special project idea for the Bolton Refuge House to the followers of my jewelry Facebook page. We’ve been met with good responses. I love that my customers support the causes that are dear to my heart.
I hope you all have a wonderful Monday! Be well friends.
